Battalion Chief J. Farley

Battalion Chief Farley was hired in 2004 and graduated from Class 2004A. Chief Farley serves as the Director of Training. Chief Farley served for over two years as an Operations Battalion Chief assigned to Battalion 1A and 3B, and was the Program Manager for Telestaff and Policy Review Committee. Since his promotion to Battalion Chief he has overseen the Tactical Paramedic Program, of which he was a member as both a Firefighter Paramedic and Fire Captain, and has maintained involvement for approximately 15 years. Chief Farley has also served on the Urban Search and Rescue Team, Swift Water Rescue Team, Long Beach Incident Management Team, both state and federal Incident Management Teams, and as a board member of the CICCS Review Board. Chief Farley served as a Firefighter and Firefighter Paramedic for Los Angeles Fire Department prior to being hired in Long Beach. Chief Farley also served for 22 years as an Ocean Lifeguard and previously Ocean Lifeguard Specialist for Los Angeles County Fire Department.
