Captain Nektarios Markouizos was born and raised in the City of Long Beach. He started his career with the Long Beach Fire Department in 1998.  He held the rank of Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic until he was promoted to Captain in 2019. He spent the majority of his career assigned to Fire Station 11 “A” Platoon.  Captain Markouizos is a current member of the Hazardous Materials Team and is proudly serving as the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing/Peer Support Coordinator since 2020.
